An Illinois man pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bangor on Monday to threatening several public officials in Maine.
According to court documents, Massimo Frangella, 24, sent seven emails to public officials in Maine, each with the subject line: “You’re going to die.”
In the body of the emails, Frangella stated, “I’m going to kill you and all of your child raping friends.”
Frangella faces up to five years in prison, a fine up to $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine.
The FBI investigated the case with assistance from the Maine Capitol Police.
