I believe the law should be enforced for immigrants who have committed crimes just as much as for presidents. And I believe people involved in law enforcement, from police on the beat all the way up through special prosecutors and Supreme Court justices, should be proud of their work enforcing the law.

So why do ICE agents wear masks?

It can’t be that they want to surprise the people they arrest, since their costume is well known. And the rest of the law enforcement community, police, judges, etc., don’t wear masks. Why do ICE agents?

The only reason I can think of is that they are ashamed of their work. They recognize that they are behaving in an un-American manner, grabbing people off the street or in their homes without a warrant, stuffing them into unmarked vehicles, spiriting them out of the state and sometimes even out of the country without due process, etc. They’ve been pushed by the Lawbreaker-in-Chief into behaving in an un-American manner, and they know it.

It’s understandable that they wear masks. But the effect is to take them out of the community of honorable law enforcement and make them look like common thugs. That’s why there’s so much resistance to ICE now. In their masks, behaving like Communist-era secret police, they are the true invaders, waging war on behalf of the Lawbreaker-in-Chief against the American way. Those of us who still love the American way must resist this assault, peacefully and lawfully.
