Jose Torres and Zach Kokoska both drove in three runs in a game that was suspended Friday because of a thunderstorm, and two Hartford pitchers combined on a three-hitter in Saturday’s second game as the Yard Goats picked up two Eastern League wins again the Portland Sea Dogs, 9-2 and 4-0 at Hadlock Field.
Sean Sullivan, one of the top prospects in the Colorado Rockies system, lowered his earned-run average to 1.62 with a dominant outing in Game 2. The 6-foot-4 left-hander struck out eight over six innings, allowing three hits and no walks.
Earlier, the teams resumed a game that was suspended Friday in the top of the third inning. Torres was 3 for 4 with three doubles, and Cole Carigg also had three hits for the Yard Goats.
Corey Rosier’s two-run homer in the fifth inning accounted for all of Portland’s offense.
