Bertha Aline Trumble
NORRIDGEWOCK – Bertha Aline Trumble, 89, of Norridgewock, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Born on April 28, 1936, in Marshfield, Vt., to Brien and Cecile (Cournoyer) Ducharme Sr., Bertha was one of four siblings: Brien Ducharme Jr., Maurice Ducharme, and Lorraine Harvey. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Brien.
Bertha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian. After Leo Trumble returned from the Army, she fell in love with him. They married in 1957, settled on a small farm in Buckland, Mass., and had three children before eventually moving to Maine. Together, they enjoyed 63 years of marriage.
Bertha was a creative homemaker, an exceptional cook and baker, as well as an accomplished tailor and knitter. She also had a green thumb, evident in the stunning flowers she cultivated.
Her three children survive her: daughter Lorraine Ann DeYoung of Haslett, Texas, son Michael Leo Trumble and his wife Kerry, of Winchester, Va., and daughter Irene Marie Kimble and her husband Dan of Penobscot, Maine. Additionally, she leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed.
Over the past three years, Bertha happily regarded Winterberry Heights Senior Living in Bangor, as her home. She regularly expressed genuine gratitude to those who supported her. Recently, Bertha heard and responded to the call of the Good Shepherd, inviting the Lord Jesus Christ to be her Savior. This personal and pivotal choice provided her daily comfort and the assurance of Heaven.
Bertha will be laid to rest at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta alongside her husband Leo on a date yet to be determined. Following the graveside service, her immediate family will celebrate her life.
