Olivia Duplessis hit a two-run single as Cony scored six times in the bottom of the third inning and beat Presque isle 18-11 in a Class B North softball prelim game in Augusta on Monday.

The Wildcats plated three runs in the top of the fifth to get within a run, 12-11, but the Rams scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 18-11 lead.

Kya Douin added a home run and drove in five runs for No. 8 Cony, which improves to 10-7 and advances to play No. 1 Hermon in the quarterfinals. No. 9 Presque Isle ends the year 8-9.

Suri Ramikisson added three hits and two RBI, while Duplessis and Khloe Price each drove three runs.

GARDINER 11, LINCOLN ACADEMY 2: The sixth-seeded Tigers (8-9) scored five runs in the first inning and rolled to a Class B South preliminary-round win over the Eagles (7-10) in Gardiner.

Zoey Sullivan-Brennan and Abby Prue both drove in two runs, and Taryn Nichols and Sophia Marrone each had two hits for Gardiner, which advanced to face No. 3 Medomak Valley in the quarterfinals. Nicholas, Sullivan-Brennan and Abby Cooley all scored twice.

Molly Takatsu went the distance on the mound for Gardiner, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out nine.

Bronwen Coffin, Lily Pinkham and Lilly LaBrie led Lincoln with two hits apiece. Pinkham and LaBrie each belted a double, and Coffin scored both Lincoln runs.
