Paula Jean (Sawtelle) Collins
TROY – Paula Jean (Sawtelle) Collins, 74, was called home to be with her loved ones on Thursday, June 5, 2025, after a short illness, with her family by her side. Paula was predeceased by her sister
Carol Mae Sawtelle, both her parents Kermit and Vera Sawtelle and her partner Ed Gordon.
Paula was born on September 26, 1950 to Kermit and Vera (Murray) Sawtelle. Paula loved her family very much and they meant everything to her. Paula is survived by her son Robert and wife Becky-Sue Collins of Sidney, her son Michael Collins of Troy, Kim Courtright of Augusta and special daughter Joyce Castonguay and husband Darrell of Winslow. Grandchildren Ethan and his partner Jess, Connor, Brendan, Kennadi, Marshall, Kyle, Lyndsey, CJ and Cailyn. Her Great Aunt Ruth whom she shared so many adventures and memories with. Her sisters Mavis Patterson and Dyan Sawtelle, many nieces, nephews, so much family and so many more friends and loved ones!
Paula loved the outdoors! She lived a very full life with travel and exploring. She was known for loving a good fire (the bigger the better) and a glass of wine in her backyard. Some of her favorite past times were driving back roads or going camping with her partner Ed. Paula loved spending time with her family and friends. She always took care of everyone else before she thought of herself. Paula always kept a beautiful lawn and garden, and you would find her puttering around in it or going for walks in the woods.
Graveside service will be Saturday June 14, at the Sawtelle Cemetery at 11 a.m., in Sidney, followed by a celebration of Life at the Waterville Elks club at 12:30 p.m.
Please visit Paula’s memorial page at https://svremembrancecenter.com/obituaries/paula-collins-2025 where condolences, photos, and special memories may be shared.
In lieu of flowers anyone wanting to can donate in Paula’s name to the Walk of Hope through the Harold Alfond Cancer Center for Care. Paula was passionate about the cancer walk which she walked several times herself, and she would have loved for anyone to support that cause in her name.
