Caitlin Rooney scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, and top-seeded Wells advanced to the Class C girls lacrosse semifinals with a 13-4 quarterfinal victory over eighth-seeded Erskine Academy on Friday in Wells.
Izzy Leslie added four goals, Eva Talevi netted two goals, and Payton Maxon and Ellie Moore also scored for the Warriors (13-2). Wells goalie Carys Ramsey stopped nine shots.
The Eagles (8-7) got two goals from Belle Pelotte and one each from Abbie McDonough and Brooke Blais.
GREELY 12, GARDINER/HALL-DALE 6: Eight players scored at least one goal for the fourth-seeded Rangers (9-6) in a Class B quarterfinal win over the fifth-seeded Tigers (9-6), at Cumberland.
Hadley Hatch led Greely with four goals. Jane Flynn added two goals, helping the three-time defending state champions advance to a semifinal against undefeated Freeport, the No. 1 seed.
Catherine Mansur scored four goals and set up another for Gardiner/Hall-Dale.
