Spencer Jones scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning, and three Somerset pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Patriots earned a 4-1 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Portland’s Zach Ehrhard led off the game with a home run, but the Sea Dogs had only two base runners the rest of the way. Ehrhard was 2 for 4.
Somerset’s Garrett Martin was 3 for 3, including an RBI triple in the sixth.
