John Andrew Doiron

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – John Andrew Doiron, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and veteran, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1964 in Waterville.

John was a man devoted to family, known for his love of learning, service, and generosity. A proud member of the Air Force until he retired in 2004 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He cherished the friendships and experiences he gained during his service. John valued education and continually sought to expand his knowledge and skills, achieving his master’s degree in 2019. He continued to serve our country by working for the Department of the Air Force until his passing.

Originally from New England, John enjoyed returning to visit his siblings and spend time with their extended family. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, his dedication to the team never wavered. He would make every effort to go to Fenway whenever he was in the area. John shared his passion for KISS with his children, going to as many live events as possible. He was known for his quiet nature and sharp sense of humor, as well as his love of puzzles, music, and sports.

John is survived by his children, Kayla Wygal (JT) and Zac Doiron (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Landon Bryce, Bray Michael, and Raena June; his stepmother, Erika Doiron; his siblings Deseree “Daisy” Gilman (Darrell), Bill Doiron, Jimmy Doiron, and Rick Doiron; his nieces Kaleena Murray, Heather Gilman, his nephews Brandon Doiron, Elijah De La Motte, Matt Gilman, Ryan Doiron, Josh Doiron, Spencer Doiron, Mark Drouin, Randy Drouin, and Tyler Ferguson.

He will be remembered for his passion, generosity, and the many traditions and joyful moments he shared with his family.

John was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Doiron; his mother, Wilhemina Doiron, and his father, James Doiron.

John’s legacy lives on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.

Services in Alabama were held on May 12. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Maplewood Cemetery, 15 Bartlett St., Fairfield, ME 04937, (located at intersection of Maple and Bartlett Streets).

Arrangements in Maine have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330.
