Rita E. Seguin
LEWISTON – Rita E. Seguin of Lewiston, Maine, formerly of Bingham, passed peacefully from this life into Eternity on Sunday, June 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born Oct. 31, 1935, in St. Agathe, Maine, the daughter of Ernest and Alma Poissonnier.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Maurice G. J. Seguin, her parents, and 11 brothers and four sisters.
Rita lived a full and exciting life and traveled extensively with her husband and children. Prior residences included Syracuse, NY; San Diego, Calif.; and the South Pacific Islands.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially when they could all gather together for the holidays. Some of her favorite pass-times were bowling, shell collecting on the beaches of the South Pacific, participating in a women’s club that worked alongside the Marshallese people, serving for 37 years at the Bingham Food Pantry, delivering Meals on Wheels, and working as a CNA.
Rita is survived by her son, Michael P. Seguin and his companion Cathy of Lewiston, her daughter Sheila Webb and husband William of Moscow; sister-in-law Dolores Ginn of Lewiston; grandchildren Eric and Chelsea; great grandchildren Hope, Brayden, Blayze, Bronx, Baustyn, Hunter, Nicholas and Johnny; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of the Woodlands Memory Care Center and Andwell Home Health Care and Hospice, both of Lewiston, Maine.
