Constance “Connie” Anne Connell

SKOWHEGAN – Constance “Connie” Anne Connell, 91, formerly of Marstons Mills and Natick, Mass., passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Cedar Ridge Center in Skowhegan.

Born in Skowhegan, Nov. 13, 1933, to Edward and Katherine (Whittemore) Giroux, she was raised in and attended Skowhegan schools graduating in 1951.

After graduating Connie moved to Boston, Mass., and attended Fisher Junior College, graduating in 1954. She loved Boston and this is where she met her husband of 64 years, “Dave” of Hyde Park Mass. They wed in 1958 in Skowhegan. In 1962 the couple went on to build their life in Natick, Mass., and in 1980 moved to Marstons Mills, Mass., until moving to Skowhegan in 2004. Connie was very proud of her time working at Wellsley College and Cape Cod Community College, retiring in 1997.

Known for being the life of the party and a voracious reader, Connie is best known for staying in touch with and maintaining relationships, throughout the years, with many many friends and many relatives from all branches of the family. While the names are far too numerous to mention, she knew them all, loved them all, and could easily tell you who’s who. She thoroughly loved exchanging correspondence, cards and gifts with them all.

Connie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, David; brother, Wallace “Wally,” sister, Diane and her husband Jack Byron.

Connie is survived by her brother, Brian; sons Frederick and mother of their children Linda Connell and James Connell and wife Sandra, daughter, Katherine Connell and significant other Mark Leblanc; grandchildren Nikki Alvarez and husband Michael, Christopher Connell and wife Erica, David Connell and fiancé Alana Renee, Sarah Luckhurst, Meghan Luckhurst and significant other Dominic Collins, Samuel Frankenfield and fiancé Ashley Booker; great-grandchildren Lola, Oliver, Bryce, Dylan, Chance, Jasper, Taylor and Mackenzie; also countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Connie also leaves behind her cherished friend, Carol Bessette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church located at 283 Water St. in Skowhegan on June 24, at 11 a.m. followed by the Rite of Committal at Calvary Cemetery on North Avenue in Skowhegan. Immediately following, a reception will be held at Somerset Valley Remembrance Center located at 19 Washburn Lane in Skowhegan.
