The recent “No Kings” protests affirmed just how furious millions of American patriots are with the Trump administration’s Gestapo-esque enforcement of deportation policy. However, by focusing our energy on the acute symptoms of our country’s MAGA disease (ICE abductions, the president’s deluded ramblings, his unhinged foreign policy, etc.) we distract ourselves from the root cause of these issues: the absurd and ever-worsening wealth gap.
The ruling class has effectively killed social mobility for an entire generation of hard-working young Mainers who are searching for purpose and hoping to build a future for themselves. We need an immediate, indefinite, general strike in this country in order to initiate any lasting change and restore the American dream for both Gen Z and unborn generations to come.
