Thornton Academy played so well and with such confidence in the Class A title game that “upset” doesn’t quite feel like the right word. But it certainly wasn’t expected. Falmouth was being viewed as possibly the best boys lacrosse team Maine has ever seen. But the Golden Trojans the perfect game plan and they executed it perfectly and took down the Navigators 8-6.

So it’s no surprise that Thornton is ranked No. 1 in the final Varsity Maine poll of the season, up two spots from last week.

Class B champion Yarmouth moves up one spot to third, and Class C champ NYA jumps from outside the poll to No. 7.

The final 2025 Varsity Maine boys lacrosse poll, as voted on by Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
