Ryker Paradis of Lewiston was honored Wednesday as Gatorade Maine boys track athlete of the year after a season in which he won the shot put and finished third in the discus at the New England high school championships.
Paradis, a senior, won both of those events at the Class A state meet and placed third in the javelin. He ranked 33rd in the nation this spring in the shot put with a best of 63 feet, 10 inches.
