Four Binghamton relievers held the Sea Dogs to four hits over the final 7 1/3 innings Wednesday, and the Rumble Ponies snapped Portland’s four-game winning streak with a 5-1 victory in an Eastern League game at Binghamton, New York.
Portland’s Zach Ehrhard singled home Mikey Romero in the top of the first inning, but Binghamton took the lead for good in the bottom half on an RBI single by Ryan Clifford and a sacrifice fly by Jacob Reimer.
Binghamton also got a sacrifice fly from William Lugo in the second inning. Reimer made it 4-1 with an RBI single in the sixth, and Kevin Parada followed with an RBI double.
Caleb Bolden took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings.
