Charles E. Jones
HARTLAND – Charles E. Jones, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Sanfield Rehab and Living Center in Hartland.
Charles was born on Oct. 4, 1945, in Augusta, to Asa and Florence (Penn) Jones. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from June of 1963 to October of 1966, operated a flower shop in Pittsfield, and a pet store with his late significant other, and worked at New Balance until his retirement in December of 2019.
Charles loved anything to do with plants, flowers, and animals.
He was preceded in death by his significant other, Rev. Earl J. Thaler; both his parents; his brother, Harold E. Jones and his sister, Betty (Jones) Nadeau.
Charles is survived by eight nieces and nephews. One of his nephews, Harold Jones, played a significant role in keeping him company with frequent visits over the last year. Charles was fond of these visits and looked forward to their time together.
We would like to thank all the dedicated healthcare professionals at Sanfield Rehab and Living Center and Maine General Hospice who took care of Charles.
A burial will be held on July 1 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery on the Hartland Road in Canaan. All who knew and loved Charles are welcome to attend.
