The Portland Sea Dogs got a leadoff home run from Zach Ehrhard, then were held to two hits the rest of the way Thursday night in a 2-1 Eastern League loss to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in Binghamton, New York.
Three Sea Dogs pitchers limited Binghamton to four hits, but they issued 10 walks and hit a batter. Nick Morabito walked, stole second and scored on a Jacob Reimer single to tie the game in the third inning, then doubled home the go-ahead run in the fifth.
Portland’s only hits after Ehrhard’s homer were a single by Caden Rose in the fifth and a single by Allan Castro with two outs in the ninth.
