AUGUSTA – Gloria J. Castonguay Billing, 71, passed away July 3, 2025, at home after a long battle with COPD, surrounded by loved ones. Gloria was born August 13, 1953, in Augusta, Maine, to Conrad and Rose Castonguay. Gloria was a graduate of Cony High School and spent her career raising her own children at home as well as caring for other local children through her work as a professional in the Augusta school system nutrition program.

She is predeceased by her brother Ray Castonguay and sister Ann Roes. She is also predeceased by her two sons, Adam and Matthew Billing, whom she sorely missed, and is undoubtedly happily reunited with. She is survived by her husband, Steven Billing of Augusta, Maine and her daughter, Amanda Berticelli and husband Anthony Berticelli of Saco, Maine, as well as her siblings, Rosanne Carey, Phil Castonguay, and Theresa Smith.

Gloria was lovingly cared for by her immediate family as well as her beloved extended family; Heidi Dennett, Ashley and Kyle Olson, and especially her angel, Olivia Olson. Additionally, a special thank you for the friendship of Debbie, Cathy, and Zainab, as well as the sincere specialty care provided by Maine General Hospice nurses.

The family will hold an open house Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the White Flour Catering located at 205 Churchill Road in Augusta.

Lastly, Gloria will be sadly missed by her closest friends, Peanut and Frankie the cats.
