AUBURN — Otto Pizza at 730 Center St. closed suddenly July 2 and all the employees were let go. An email sent to patrons July 11 confirmed that both the Auburn and Gorham locations are closed “following the unexpected passing of the licensee who owned both locations.”

Owner Greg Ingrao died March 29, according to an obituary posted on the website of Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral Homes.

Otto Pizza opened Aug. 1, 2022, as the first location of the Portland-based chain in the Lewiston and Auburn market. The company has 28 locations in total in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The future of the Auburn and Gorham locations is uncertain, with the company stating, “At this time, operations are paused as (Ingrao’s) partners take time to regroup and determine the best path forward.”
