Romeo Dennis Soucy
MADISON – Romeo Dennis Soucy, 87, of Madison, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so very much.
Born March 31, 1938 to Prime and Alice Soucy, Romeo grew up in Skowhegan where he attended school and worked most of his life, retiring from SAD 54. His strong work ethic and sense of humor carried him through his life and is reflected in his children and grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Romeo had many interests. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, wood working and bird watching. He loved the Boston Red Sox and was always up for a card game or a cribbage game. He especially loved passing along his “skunk” to anyone who would play a cribbage game with him. (if you know, you know!) His sharp wit, remarkable memory and love of a good joke will be missed by family and his many friends.
Romeo is survived by one sister, Agatha, sister-in-law, Betty; sons Michael and wife Marcy, Steve and wife Karen, daughter, Brenda and significant other John. He is also survived by grandchildren Whitney, Katelyn, Jacob, Olivia and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Aiden and Savannah, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Gloria, the mother of his children; brothers Arthur and Francis (Bea) Soucy, sisters Rita (Linwood) Ames, Irene Tuttle, Juliet (Richard) Holt, and Cecile (Harry) Conley, one brother-in-law, Lester Corson and one sister-in-law, Mary (Dennis) Robbins.
Thank you to the staff at Cedar Ridge for your kindness and excellent care and to the many friends Romeo made while living there. You made a difference in his life. Also, thank you to the compassionate caretakers at RFGH – you are truly appreciated.
Per Romeo’s request, there will be no funeral service.
