Pam Cullen

AUGUSTA – Pam Cullen went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2025, after a difficult struggle with cancer. She spent her last days holding onto her faith in Jesus, surrounded by family and friends. She was 62 years old.

Pam was born in Augusta and raised in Hallowell and Augusta. She graduated from Cony High School. After graduation, Pam worked at Burnsie’s and then moved to Florida. When she returned to Augusta, she was hired as the Office Manager at the church she had grown up in – Penney Memorial United Baptist Church. Pam worked at Penney for the next 29 years until she was diagnosed with cancer late last year. During her time at Penney, she was committed to loving and caring for the people of the church. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she was deeply touched by the ways the people of the church loved and cared for her throughout the last months of her life.

Pam always enjoyed being outdoors, whether in her garden or watching and listening to the birds that came to her feeders all year long. She enjoyed the peace and beauty of hiking the beautiful state of Maine where she felt close to God. She loved her dogs, and in recent years Frank and Ollie made her happy and were great companions. She was a huge New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed talking football with friends.

Pam treasured spending time with her nephew, Cory and his wife Sam and his father, Dana Clark, a lifelong friend. She loved being with her grand nephews and nieces. Hosting sleepovers, making popcorn and watching movies with them was the highlight of her week, and she never missed their games and concerts. Her family’s camp was a special place for Pam, and she was so glad to be a part of making the fourth generation of memories at Three Mile Pond. Before her sister Linda died, she had the opportunity to take a road trip with Linda to Yellowstone Park, which Pam called the trip of a lifetime.

What brought Pam the deepest joy was the years spent at Penney Memorial where her love for God and the people of Penney grew through the trials and joys experienced together. Her work at Penney was not a job but a ministry. Pam served her Lord through various outreach ministries she headed up, like Operation Christmas Child and the Community Dinners. She had a heart for those in need in Augusta and spent many hours working to help those who were homeless and hungry. For years she led the church youth group, and the youth always had a special place in her heart. To those within the church, Pam was a helpful and competent servant and a loyal friend. She was a listening ear to many, and a hub of church life.

Pam fought the good fight against cancer and did not desire her life to end when it did. But she accepted God’s will and put her trust in Jesus to save her, see her through and bring her home. It was her deep desire that all her family and friends would also trust Jesus, and that she would one day see them again in His kingdom.

Pam was predeceased by her father, Don Bartlett; and her sister, Linda Bartlett; and her former husband, Pat Cullen.

She is survived by her mother, Donna Bartlett; her sister, Karen Bartlett; her nephews Ryan Daniels and Cory (and Samantha) Daniels; her great-nephews Mason and Milo Daniels and Josiah Hernandez, her great-nieces Avery and Audrey Daniels, Isabella and Braina Daniels, and Chiara Perry.

Pam’s memorial service will be held on Tuesday Aug. 5, at 11 a.m., at Penney Memorial Church, 393 Water St., Augusta. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1 Church St., Augusta.
