David Alton Peabody
PORTLAND – David Alton Peabody, 63, passed away on July 15, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Portland from pancreatic cancer.
He was born on April 27, 1962 in Caribou to the late Gerard and Annette Peabody. He grew up in Manchester and graduated from Maranacook Community School and the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
All through these years, his great interest was in the comic book business. He worked at Moon Shadow Comics and recently at Casablanca Comics in Portland. During this time, he wrote and illustrated and printed his own books, “Walking Christendom”, under the name dave naybor.
He was very creative and recently is well known for his many special shirts he made for family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Annette Peabody; his brother, Douglas Peabody and Rebecca Hicks; his nephews Damon and Zachary; and son, Oliver; his nieces Daralyn and Alicia and partner Olivia; and his dear friends Peter Wool and Karyn Jenkins.
