
Cecile M. Lachance
HALLOWELL – Cecile M. Lachance, 86, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Woodlands in Hallowell. She was born in Augusta on Oct. 13, 1938, a daughter of the late Alphonse J. and Leonida (Bourassa) Lachance.
Ms. Lachance was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1956 and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She had been employed by the State of Maine, Department of Transportation for over 25 years. She previously worked for the State of Maine at the Department of Human Services and, before that, for Bates Mfg., Edwards Division.
Ms. Lachance was a member of the choir group at St. Augustine for many years, the Maine State Employees Association and the Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
Cecile was a kind, compassionate, thoughtful and generous woman, she lived to please others and was a selfless caretaker for her sister and others in her life.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette R. Lachance.
Ms. Lachance is survived by a sister, Juliette M. Lachance of Hallowell; and many cousins.
Thank you to the staff of Woodlands Assisted Living of Hallowell and the Andwell Hospice staff and volunteers for their attentive care and compassion.
Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, July 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.
