Lewiston’s Isaiah Harris was among the fastest qualifiers in the men’s 800 meters for the second straight day Friday at the USA track and field championships, but Cumberland’s Victoria Bossong was eliminated in the women’s 800 semifinals in Eugene, Oregon.
Harris again was in the first heat, and though his season-best time of 1 minute, 44.53 seconds wasn’t quick enough for one of the two automatic berths into Sunday’s final, he advanced on time as the fastest wild card. His time was just .11 from his personal best of 1:44.42, set in 2018.
Bossong placed seventh in the second of three women’s semifinals and was 15th overall among 27 competitors with a time of 2:00.76.
