In addition to the reasons stated in Douglas Volk’s July 29 op-ed (“Chick-fil-A has no place on the Maine Turnpike“), I’d like to include my reason for opposing the addition of Chick-fil-A franchises on the Maine Turnpike.
On a recent trip through upstate New York my husband and I found that the Chick-fil-A franchises at the service plazas were closed because it was Sunday. A restaurant that is closed on one of the busiest days that people travel is not a good fit for a service plaza.
