Raymond E. Morang III
PITTSTON – Raymond E. Morang III, lovingly known to many as “Skip”, 76, was born on Feb. 13, 1949, in Lewiston. He spent his lifetime spreading laughter and generosity wherever he went. Skip’s witty sense of humor was infectious, and his zest for life was unmatchable. He left on Thursday, July 24, 2025. His spirit, however, remains with us, still inspiring joy, compassion, and love in those fortunate enough to have known him.
Skip’s life was marked not only by his generosity but also by his dedication to his work as a Nurse’s Aide at the VA Hospital. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, ensuring that those around him felt comforted and cared for. Skip was not just a caregiver at work, but also to his friends and family, to whom he always provided unwavering support. His love for his family was boundless.
As a SP5 in the US Army from 1967 – 1970, his service and dedication to his country were commendable. Skip was fascinated by the world’s history and spent his free time studying genealogy, reading, and visiting Pemaquid. He was also an avid member of AA, where he celebrated an impressive 41 years of sobriety with the support of so many wonderful people who he thought of as family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Raymond Sr. and Doris Morang; parents Raymond Jr. and Lucy Morang; and his son, Raymond Morang IV.
Skip is survived by his daughter Tammy Murphy and son-in-law Michael Murphy; grandchildren Raymond E. Morang V, Sean Murphy, Aaron and Morgan Murphy and Breanne Murphy; brother Donald Morang; nephew Donald Morang Jr; niece Jessica Morang, as well as Gloria and Francois Rodrigue; and several cousins.
