Scott Allan Arsenault

DUNEDIN, Fla. – Scott Allan Arsenault, 57, passed away Aug. 3, 2025, in Dunedin, Fla., with family by his side. He was born Feb. 20, 1968, in Augusta, the son of the late James L. Arsenault and Priscilla M. Arsenault of Gardiner, where he grew up and graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1986.

Scott began his career in retail at the Hannaford in Gardiner, formerly Shop ‘n Save and Cottles. He later transitioned into the banking industry as a loan officer in Boston, Mass.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Tampa, Fla. Ultimately, his love for retail and his gift for connecting with people led him back to customer service. He settled in Palm Harbor, Fla. where he worked for the Walmart Neighborhood Market to continue doing what he enjoyed most, helping others with kindness, efficiency, compassion, and dedication.

Scott was known for his kind heart, gentle nature, and quick wit. Though quiet and private, he brought warmth, laughter, and ease to those around him with a smile, a smart remark, or a generous gesture. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs Ramaki and Logan. We take comfort imagining them together again, bringing him the same joy they always did.

Scott was predeceased by his parents, James and Priscilla Arsenault; and his sister, Jacklyn “Jackie”.

He is survived by his four siblings, Cathy L. Spurling and her husband Kerry of Palermo, Lee J. Arsenault and his wife Debbie of Rockledge, Fla., Joey M. Arsenault and his husband Jeremy Ehlers of Dade City, Fla., and Jennifer D. Bechard and her husband Bart of Hallowell. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, Jamie Madore and her husband Ryan of Hallowell, Jessica Isaacson and her husband Stuart of Wayne, Joshua Marsella and his wife Aryn of West Gardiner, Aubri Johnson and her husband Brett of Graham, N.C., and Caden Bechard of Hallowell. Scott was a great-uncle to Hayden and Davis Madore, Hali and Asher Isaacson, and Lucca and Lennon Marsella. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private service will be held in Maine at a future date.

The family would like to thank the gentle, loving caregivers at AccentCare Mease Manor Inpatient Hospice Center in Dunedin, Fla., for helping Scott on his journey with comfort and dignity.

Among the memories he leaves behind is a song he once shared — “Times of Your Life” by Paul Anka:

“Gather moments while you may,

Collect the dreams you dream today.”

Let these words remind us of the joy Scott found in life’s simplest, most meaningful moments, encouraging others to hold on to what matters most.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to a local dog rescue as a tribute to Scott’s compassion and deep bond with his dogs.
