WINSLOW – Lucille Agnes (Deschaine) LaPointe, 96, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Lucille was born in Waterville on Nov. 3, 1928, the daughter of Ulrich and Jeanne (Lambert) Deschaine. She attended Waterville public schools and graduated from Waterville High School.
Over the years, Lucille had a few different jobs. She worked at the Winslow Drive-In Theater, was a cook in the Winslow School System, and owned and operated Lucille’s Dairy Whip.
Lucille married the love of her life, Leo LaPointe before the two of them moved to Winslow. They had two children whom she adored, Stan and John LaPointe. One of her favorite places in the world was her camp on China Lake. She loved going there whenever she could.
She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Leo; and her son, John LaPointe.
Lucille is survived by her son, Stan LaPointe and wife Celeste; her grandchildren Jessica and husband Jared, Joshua, Amanda and husband Jimmy; her great-grandchildren Jace, Joslyn, Jude, and Vivienne.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta.
