Trent Clyde Clukey
NORRIDGEWOCK – Trent Clyde Clukey, 59, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 4, 2025, after complications from MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy).
Trent was born in Skowhegan, Nov. 27, 1965, the son of Bessie Jane Goodridge and Earl Cates. He graduated from Skowhegan Area High School, class of 1984 and played three sports.
After high school he went off into the trade world and spent some time with his uncle, David Clukey, in Missouri, and later ended up at Cianbro. He worked at Cianbro as a crane mechanic assembler for the remaining 37 years and retired in December of 2024. Trent took great pride in his work and retiring came hard for him as it was something he was not ready to do. Due to his declining health he had to pass the legacy on to a younger generation of crane assemblers. He has been a long-time member of the Skowhegan Elks Lodge.
Trent loved three things in life: his family, his work, and good grub. He was tough, strong, and resilient, but he was also a lover and a softy. Hardworking, patient, supportive, generous, sentimental, kind, and passionate are all words that I would use to describe Trent.
Anyone that knew Trent knows that he always had a “project” going. These projects were elaborate. Building pole barns, horse and cow barns, dog kennels, and fencing that could keep buffalo enclosed. He took such great pride in working around the farm, and what a beautiful place he made.
Building and working around the farm were his true passions, but the only true “hobby” that he allowed himself was Team Penning. Team Penning is a horse and cattle event. Trent loved to Team Pen, just as much as he loved to help the cattlemen working the cattle.
“Papa Trent” was his favorite title though, and he loved his grandbabies. He never had any children of his own, but he was a father and grandfather in every way that matters. Trent was also a collector of many things and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Trent was liked and loved by everyone who knew him and will be sadly missed by all.
Trent was predeceased by his parents; aunt, Ruth Clukey, uncle, Zane Clukey; and father-in-law, Boyd Harrington.
He is survived by his partner of 20 years, Beth Lambert; stepdaughter, Morgan Benson and husband Gus, stepson, Dillon Lambert and wife Ciera; grandchildren, Weston (5), Charlee (5), Wynne (3), and Gavin (2); brothers Randy Clukey and wife Dana, Ralph Clukey, Jade Goodridge, Shawn Goodridge, sister, Earlene Thompson; mother-in-law, Donna Harrington; sister-in-law, Jill Manuel (Patrick), brother-in-law, Anthony Harrington (Michele); uncles David and Ralph Clukey; nephews Jared Clukey(Amy), Charlie Quimby, Caleb Manuel, Kyler Harrington, nieces Jade Anderson (Jeff) Anna Manuel, and Rachelle Clukey; great-nieces Raven and Wren Anderson and Miley Clukey, great-nephew, Robbie Winter; along with many cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at T&B’s Celebration Center on Aug. 17, at 2 p.m.
