David A. Adams
AUGUSTA – David A. Adams, 77, of Augusta, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 9, 2025. He was born in Augusta on June 6, 1948, to Arthur L. Adams and Pearl Adams Bender.
David graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1966. After a short time attending UMO at Augusta at Cony High School, he enlisted in the Army. He had lasting fond memories of his time stationed in Germany. He attained the rank of sergeant.
David’s working career started at Cottles Shop and Save in Gardiner and ended with Walmart in Augusta. He was very conscientious and took pride in his work.
He enjoyed the outdoors on his boat, riding his 4-wheeler, and snowmobiling.
David loved all animals but shared a special bond with his loyal Border Collie, Winchester. He cherished the memories of their time together and surely Winch was right there waiting for him!
David was self-sufficient and unwilling to ask for or accept help from anyone. He always put others first, was non-judgmental, and always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. He cared deeply for people and was a good role model and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Adams and Pearl Bender, and stepfathe Robert Bender, Sr.
David is survived by his sisters Anita (C. Scott) Taylor, Sheri (Edward) Collins, Cindy (Kirk) Casterline, brother, Robert Bender, Jr., stepsisters Roxanne Black and Roberta Relan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
