Donna A. Richards
AUGUSTA – Donna A. Richards, 91, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2025 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch following a brief illness. She was born in Painesville, Ohio on May 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Wellman) Bell.
Mrs. Richards had been employed for many years at Ted Peters Famous Smoked Fish in St. Petersburg, Fla. and had also worked at Woodmaster’s, Inc. in Augusta.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William D. Kartman; her second husband, Storer Richards; and her sister, Beverly Adie.
Mrs. Richards is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. Craig and her husband Lou of Augusta; three sons. Daniel Kartman and his wife Wendy of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kenneth Kartman and his wife Linda of Baltimore, Md., and Michael Kartman, Sr. of Vassalboro; four grandchildren, Missy Bowden, Amy Lou Truchon, Michael Kartman, Jr. and Megan Kartman; three great-grandchildren, Blake Journet, Vivian and Abram Truchon; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no public visiting hours. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
