Dolan D. Peters
FAIRFIELD – Dolan D. Peters, 79, passed away at home on Aug. 7, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Cancer.
Dolan was born on April 16, 1946, to David and Dora (Guite) Peters. He attended the Catholic School on High Street in Fairfield and graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 as a radio and telecommunications specialist, stationed in Germany where he spent 18 months.
Dolan had a love for playing and watching sports. He was very active in physical fitness and could often be found riding his bike or at the gym. He also coached P.A.L. football in the 1980s. Dolan spent many years singing in the choir at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and volunteering at the Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry.
Dolan was an electrician, working at Keyes Fibre for many years before briefly going to Scott Paper. He also spent time working for the Railroad, and then ultimately retiring from Sappi after many years.
He was predeceased by his son, Dale D. Peters; his wife, Sally E. Peters; and his grandson, Brock C. Peters.
Dolan is survived by his daughter, Tammy L. Gidney with her husband James, daughter and caretaker, Amy L. Peters with her partner Eddie D. Deberry; grandsons Cody Thibodeau, Ty Peters, and Eddie C. Deberry, granddaughter, Ali L. Peters; great-grandsons Lincoln and Barrett Thibodeau; brothers Dean and Dana Peters with their wives Dawn and Tracy; many cousins nieces and a nephew.
Dolan had a wonderful sense of humor and was a hardworking, loving father and husband who will be deeply missed.
His family is at peace knowing Dolan is no longer suffering and is now with cherished family.
Arrangements have been made through Somerset Valley Remembrance Center. There will be no public service per Dolan’s wishes.
