Dalton Rogers allowed just three hits over 5 1/3 innings, and Max Ferguson singled home the eventual winning run for the Portland Sea Dogs in a 3-2 win  over the Somerset Patriots on Friday night at Hadlock Field.

Ferguson led off the bottom of the first with a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Miguel Bleis single. An inning later, Portland made it 2-0 when Tyler Miller led off with a double and eventually scored as Ferguson grounded into a double play.

Holding a 2-1 lead in the seventh, the Sea Dogs took advantage of two errors to get an insurance run. Ahbram Liendo reached on a two-out error, stole second and moved to third on a wild throw before scoring while Ferguson beat out an infield single.

Portland finished with five hits.

Rogers allowed a run in the third inning but otherwise was in control. He struck out six and walked three. Jack Anderson worked the final 3 2/3 innings and gave up a run in the ninth before retiring the final two batters for his third save of the season.
