Jackson Castillo’s three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning lifted the Somerset Patriots to a 4-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in the teams’ series finale Sunday at Hadlock Field.
Castillo homered off Jorge Juan (1-5, 5.51 ERA). The Sea Dogs scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th on RBI hits by Marvin Alcantara and Juan Chacon, but Miguel Bleis struck out swinging against Somerset’s Mason Vinyard to end the game.
Down 1-0, Portland (54-57) tied the score in the bottom of the ninth on Alcantara’s RBI double, his third hit of the game, which scored Max Ferguson.
Portland starter Hayden Mullins allowed two hits and one earned run over six innings, walking three batters and striking out seven. Juan Chacon had two hits.
Tyler Hardman had two hits for Somerset (61-53).
