As a former state representative here in Maine, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with many of the most vulnerable citizens in our community and listening to their concerns about the future for both them and our country.
For our seniors, as well as those struggling with chronic illnesses, obtaining and maintaining access to affordable health care is a continuous worry. Which is why I’m calling on our federal lawmakers to make preserving and protecting the Medicare Advantage program for those who most need our help a top priority.
Medicare Advantage is a comprehensive program that offers a wealth of affordable, dependable benefits to our citizens who often struggle to find those in their health care plans. Medicare Advantage ensures its benefits are excellent and stable, with no surprise fee increases or medical bills.
Prescription drug costs, too, remain steady and affordable under the Medicare Advantage program. It comes as no surprise, then, that nationwide, 95% of Medicare beneficiaries plan to reenroll in the program.
Seniors, and those battling chronic illness, deserve to live quality lives supported by a health care program that cares for their well-being across all facets, like Medicare Advantage. I strongly urge our lawmakers to support Medicare Advantage for Maine’s vulnerable citizens.
