Dalton Rodgers and two relievers combined to shutout the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Portland Sea Dogs won 2-0 on Thursday night at Hadlock Field.
Rogers pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, while striking out seven and walking two. He gave way to Yovanny Cruz after allowing two singles in the sixth inning. Cruz got out of the jam and pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out three to earn the win. Reidis Sena pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
Portland took a 1-0 lead in the sixth when Allan Castro doubled and scored on a fielder’s choice by Ronaldo Hernandez. Castro added an RBI single in the seventh.
