BRANDON, MISS. – Dumont Biglar “Monty” Henderson, formerly of Clinton, a beloved father, educator, and mentor, passed away on Nov. 16, 2024, at the age of 89.

Born on Dec. 24, 1935, in Bakersville, N.C., Monty devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the sharing of wisdom.

Monty was a graduate of University Maine Orono and attended graduate school at Seton Hall University. He had a long and successful career at Scott Paper Company, first as a research chemist and ending his career as vice president of the company’s specialty products division. After retirement, he took a position at Kennebec Valley Community College teaching pulp and paper technology.

He was a long-time member of the Episcopal church and on June 20, 2009, he was ordained as a Deacon and served for seven years at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waterville. He particularly enjoyed the fellowship of working in the church. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Evan Schutter and is survived by his wife, Roxanne Henderson; son, Marc (Sara) Henderson, daughter, Shari (Kent) Schutter; and granddaughters Emily Schutter and Amber Randall.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 30, at Potters Cemetery, 450 Johnson Flat Rd., Clinton.
