There are two wars being fought with American interests at heart.
The war in Gaza has killed over 80,000 people using American weapons and with American presidential approval. It should be noted that the Palestinians have never been a threat to the U.S.
On the other hand, our security and that of Europe depend on the outcome of the war in Ukraine. The Russian need to reestablish its Cold War borders is a threat to millions of people. (My father lost his country to politically driven decisions at Yalta). Why has it been so difficult for us to understand this?
Why can’t we understand that the weapons we send to Israel are the cause of death and future antisemitism? Why can’t we understand that these same weapons sent to Ukraine could avert a much greater conflict, a world war?
Had we done the politically intelligent and practical thing a long time ago we could be rid of Netanyahu and of the Russian occupation of Ukraine.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
