Eduardo Rivera (1-4) gave up one hit over five shutout innings and Portland supported him with six runs in the second inning, four more in the third and five in the sixth as the Sea Dogs rolled to a 15-3 Eastern League win over the Yard Goats on Thursday in Hartford.
The Sea Dogs finished with 16 hits and took control in the second by plating runs with a sacrifice fly, a wild pitch and RBI singles from Karson Simas (2 for 5, two RBI) and Ahbram Liendo (2 for 6, RBI). Two more runs scored on a single from Marvin Alcantara to cap the burst.
Simas and Juan Chacon (2 for 4, RBI) had RBI singles in the third, followed by a two-run single from Alcantara. In the sixth, Ronald Rosario’s two-run home run and a three-run shot from Drew Ehrhard (four RBI) pushed the score to 15-0. Designated hitter Brooks Bannon finished 4 for 5 with three runs scored.
Julio Carreras got Hartford on the board with a two-run double in the sixth off reliever Noah Song. Jose Cordova added an RBI double in the ninth.
