Juan Chacon drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, lifting the Portland Sea Dogs to a 4-3 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Saturday night in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Sea Dogs won despite being held to three hits. Ronald Rosario belted a two-run homer in the first inning and Marvin Alcantara led off the ninth inning with a home run that broke a 2-2 tie, but Hartford’s Julio Carreras answered with a homer in the bottom of the ninth.
Portland’s starting pitcher, Blake Wehunt, allowed just one hit and one run through four innings, with five strikeouts and two walks. Jeremy Wu-Yelland was credited with the win after pitching the eighth and ninth, and Reidis Sena got his sixth save of the season.
