As we contemplate the new gerrymandered election map in Texas, it would be smart to remember that Adolf Hitler never achieved an absolute majority in a free and fair German election.

While the Nazi Party experienced significant growth in popularity in the early 1930s, particularly during times of economic and political instability, it was unable to secure more than 50% of the vote in the Reichstag (German parliament) elections. At their peak electoral reach, in the July 1932 elections, the Nazis won 37.3% of the vote.
