Franklin Arias belted his first Double-A home run, and Karson Simas also homered and drove in four runs as the Portland Sea Dogs trounced the Erie SeaWolves, 13-2, in an Eastern League game Thursday night at Hadlock Field.
Arias gave the Sea Dogs a 6-1 lead with his three-run homer to left-center in the fourth inning. Simas hit a three-run blast during Portland’s seven-run eighth inning.
Hayden Mullins improved to 7-2, limiting Erie to one run through five innings. He struck out six, walked two and allowed four hits.
Cooper Adams pitched the final 3 1/3 innings for his first save of the season.
