Titus Washington scored the winner in the first minute of second-half stoppage time Wednesday as the Portland Hearts of Pine came from behind to beat the Greenville Triumph, 3-2, in a USL League One soccer game in South Carolina.

It was Portland’s third straight league win, a first for the expansion franchise. Portland (7-4-9) improved to sixth place in the 14-team USL1 standings. Eight teams make the playoffs.

Washington’s goal in the 91st minute was set up by a swift run in the box and side-foot pass by JayTee Kamara. Kamara tied the game with a goal in the 80th minute off a Nathan Messer assist. It’s the second game in a row Kamara has come off the bench in the second half and produced a goal and assist.

Greenville (6-10-6) took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Portland’s Masashi Wada tied the game in first-half stoppage time with an assist from Mikey Lopez, but Greenville went ahead again in the 50th minute.

Portland’s next game is Saturday, Sept. 13, when it hosts the first-place Chattanooga Red Wolves at Fitzpatrick Stadium at 6 p.m.
