BELGRADE – Betty J. (Wrigley) Pierce died on August 25, 2025. She was born on Dec. 29, 1947, to James Kenneth Wrigley and Hilda Mary (Murray) Wrigley.
Betty graduated from Williams High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation, she started to work for the Department of Public Safety Maine State Police. She remained there until her retirement in July of 2003.
Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading and stock car racing; she especially enjoyed attending the races often with her husband.
Betty was predeceased by her mother and father, sisters Alice and Beverly, nephews John and James and her infant granddaughter Madison.
Betty is survived by her husband Thomas Pierce; daughter Heidi; granddaughter Olivia and boyfriend Donavan; brother Dana (Marie); and nephew Dana Jr. (Bill). She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
Per Betty’s wishes there will be no funeral services. A graveside service will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade on Sept. 19, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Services are under the care of Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church Street, Oakland. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at http://www.wheelerfh.com.
