BELGRADE – Paul T. Stevens, 57, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, with his son by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 9, 1967, to Edward and Alberta Stevens and lived his entire life in North Belgrade. Paul was the youngest of six children.
Paul was not only loved and admired by his family but by an abundance of friends and neighbors for his kindness and readiness to lend a helping hand. Paul was a dedicated self-employed property management provider. He enjoyed working independently with his business, Stevens Property Management.
He had many passions. Fishing Great Pond – casting lines during spring and summer while boating and drilling holes during the winter out by Oak Island with Josh and his buddies in his red ice shack that he was very proud of. He enjoyed hunting for the big buck when he had the chance along with BBQs – smoking ribs or a brisket using his own homemade recipes, steaks and chicken to lobster cookouts for family and friends.
Paul was predeceased by his father, Edward, in 2004, and his mother, Alberta, in 2025.
He is survived by his son, Joshua of North Belgrade; brothers Edward Stevens, Jr. and his wife Leanne of Fairfield, David Stevens and his wife Kathy of Belgrade, sisters Janet Stevens of Oakland, Sandra Stevens of North Belgrade, Jolene Belserene and her husband Mark of Belgrade. He is also survived by his 11 nieces and nephews, Lindsay Melisurgo and her husband Daniel, Heather Bresett and her husband Joshua, Matthew Stevens and his wife Carla, Jason Stevens and his wife Heather, Tasha Gradie and her husband James, Jamie Rivard and her husband Derek, Sarah Butler and her husband Jarrett, Rebecca Fotter and her partner Patrick Powell, Brandy Bernatchez, Louis “Buddy” Belserene, Mark Belserene, Jr.; and his mother’s sister, Aunt Sandra Sturgeon and her husband Robert of Windham; and many great-nieces, nephews; and cousins.
Paul is also survived by many friends who are like family, Dwight and Terri Leighton, Jeff Zimba, Jason Labbe, Cindy and Brian Landry, Brad Bernatchez, Wilson Rutherford, Illka Anderson and Mike Regan. Paul thought the world of you all and appreciated your kindness, compassion and generosity.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Hathaway and the oncology nurses at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center and Maine General Hospice for their kindness, compassion and support.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9:30 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Belgrade.
