Two teenage boys were arrested in Fairfield Wednesday after reportedly harassing and yelling at customers at a local restaurant while wearing ski masks, police said.
Fairfield police officers responded to the Purple Cow restaurant at 6 Skowhegan Road around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of the teens causing a disturbance, the Fairfield Police Department said in a statement issued Friday morning.
The two were reportedly wearing ski masks, police said.
“Officers responded and found that the two males matched the description of two juveniles that had been involved in two other incidents earlier in town,” the statement said. “Upon detaining the two, one of the males was found to be concealing a handgun.”
One of the teenagers, a 17 year old, was charged with terrorizing, theft and unlawful possession of a concealed weapon, police said. A juvenile community corrections officer authorized a hold and police transported him to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
The other teen, a 16 year old, was charged with terrorizing and theft, police said. He was released to a parent.
The names of the two were not released as they are juveniles. Most juvenile court filings and proceedings in Maine are closed to the public.
