The University of New England scored 21 third-quarter points and held off Western New England College for a 37-31 Conference of New England football win Saturday in Biddeford.

Chris Lang was 13 of 24 passing for 213 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 50 yards as the Nor’easters improved to 4-0. John Germano and Alex Yeaton each caught a touchdown pass, while Damien Jones had 18 rushes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

For WNEC (2-2), Matt LaMontagne rushed for 97 yards and two TDs.

HAMILTON 27, BOWDOIN 10: Luke Kurzum connected on 24 of 35 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hamilton (1-2) over Bowdoin (0-3) in Clinton, New York.

The Polar Bears led 10-7 after one quarter, thanks to Caden Perry’s 37-yard field goal and
Soren Hummel’s 46-yard scoring pass to Michael Wolfendale.

Hamilton scored the next three touchdowns before Perry hit a 30-yard field goal for Bowdoin.

Wolfendale finished with six catches for 83 yards, while Nelson Dorsey had 21 rushes for 87 yards.

MIDDLEBURY 27, COLBY 17: The Panthers (2-1) used two big fourth-quarter plays to pull away from the Mules (1-2) in Waterville.

Middlebury took a 10-0 lead into halftime after a 1-yard TD run by Antone Moreis and Will Schneider’s 37-yard field goal.

The Mules pulled to within four on Miles Drake’s 2-yard run in the third quarter, but Middlebury scored the next two touchdowns – a 66-yard run by Connor McLellan and a 22-yard interception return by Charlie Grant.


Colby’s Jack Nye finished with eight catches for 85 yards, while Ryan Singhal had 11 rushes for 75 yards.

WESLEYAN 23, BATES 7: Matt Fitzsimmons completed 20 of 31 passes for 254 yards and a score, Blake Newcomb had eight catches for 116 yards, and Wesleyan (2-1) beat Bates (1-2) in Lewiston.

Tyler Flynn’s 4-yard run gave Wesleyan the lead midway through the second quarter.

Bates answered with 1:49 left in the half on Ryan Lynskey’s 5-yard run. Wesleyan, though, marched right back and regained a 13-7 lead on a Matt Diaz 5-yard touchdown with 35 seconds left.

After a Gage Hammond 30-yard field goal, Fitzsimmons connected with Donte Kelly for a 50-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.

ENDICOTT 48, HUSSON 14: Bryan Metayer rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns as Endicott (3-1) rolled past Husson (1-3) in a Conference of New England game in Bangor.

Endicott grabbed a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Husson responded when Max Clark connected with Cam Holmes for a 24-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter, but Endicott scored the next three touchdowns for a 35-7 lead at halftime.

Endicott added 13 third-quarter points before Clark again connected with Holmes for an 18-yard score.

KEYSTONE 47, MAINE MARITIME 22: Frankie Leyshon threw for 224 yards and four touchdowns as Keystone (1-1) rolled past Maine Maritime (0-3) in Castine.

Keystone opened a 16-0 lead before the Mariners got touchdowns on Evan Arceneaux’s 10-yard pass to Eli Bennett, and a 7-yard run by Nyrel Norris to pull within 16-14 with 1:05 left in the first half. But Keystone extended its lead by scoring another touchdown with just 2 seconds remaining.

Jayson Nami finished with 172 yards and a touchdown on 14 catches for Keystone.
