‘The Muppet Movie’

Calling all lovers and dreamers! Friends of Congress Square Park, Bicycle Coalition of Maine and Portland Downtown invite you to an outdoor screening of the original 1979 “The Muppet Movie.” The adventure stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and other characters from the mind of creator Jim Henson. You’ll hear Kermit’s classic rendition of “Rainbow Connection,” followed by other gems like “Moving Right Along” and “I Hope That Something Better Comes Along.”

‘Titanic: The Broadway Musical’

Based on the RMS Titanic’s tragic sinking on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912, “Titanic: The Broadway Musical” is a poignant show that won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. From immigrants seeking a better life in America to the wealthy elite, “Titanic” tells the story from several perspectives through songs like “I Must Get On That Ship,” “Wake Up, Wake Up!” and “We’ll Meet Tomorrow.” Expect to get emotional as you witness the historical voyage that started in England but never made it to New York City.

Maine Craft Weekend

Here’s an ideal way to get a close-up look at the creative process of artists and craftspeople around the state. Many of them will be opening the doors to their studio spaces during Maine Craft Weekend. Some will offer demonstrations, and there will be pop-up shopping opportunities. Featured cities and towns include Bangor, Biddeford, Ellsworth and Freeport, among many others.

The Runaway Country Music Fest

The Runaway Country Music Fest features a stacked lineup that includes the 2022 “American Idol” winner Noah Thompson. You’ll also hear sets from 12/OC, Henry Lowery, Toby McAllister, Isaiah Bennett and Jake Crosby. The festival will also have country line dancing, giveaways and several food trucks.

Pink Martini

For a night of sensational pop, Latin, jazz, world music and more, grab a ticket for Pink Martini. Billed as the All Stars show, the concert features powerhouse vocalists Storm Large, Ari Shapiro, Edna Vasquez and Jimmie Herrod. About a dozen musicians will be on stage, and the multilingual concert will likely have several showstopping moments.
