I have voted for Gov. Mills in two elections and canvassed for her during her two campaigns. I think she has been a good governor and am grateful that she was in charge during the pandemic. However, I hope she does not run for Senate. It is time to bring in new, younger people with fresh ideas and experience to be our leaders.
We seem to be stuck in a gerontocracy, as well as being on the verge of autocracy. I am 83 and that is the age she would be at the end of her term. Joe Biden’s belief that he was the only one who could beat Donald Trump has led us to where we are now.
I urge Gov. Mills to give her advice, wisdom and support to whomever wins the Democratic primary but not to run for Senate.
