The order has changed, but the top three teams in the Varsity Maine football poll remain separated by three points.

Portland is No. 1 for the second straight week, while Thornton moves from third to second, swapping places with Bonny Eagle. That change means that this week’s meeting between the Bulldogs and the Golden Trojans in Portland will be a No. 1-versus-2 showdown.

This week also features a matchup between No. 4 Cony and No. 7 Fryeburg in Augusta. That’s two great candidates for Varsity Maine football game of the week.

Hermon (ninth) moves into the poll for the first time this season, while Falmouth (10th) rejoins the rankings after a week away.

The Varsity Maine football poll is based on games played before Sept. 30, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
